How does our Home/School/Community Collaborative work?
- Game board goes home with students and hangs in a visible area at home - Student brings score card to and from school as the reach "success" spaces on the board - Student is rewarded with stickers from their teachers as they reach goals and then with a certificate of achievement at game's completion - Parents are asked to provide encouragement and praise at home, the children do the rest - Student's completed score card can then be taken into the community where the children receive free and discounted items as rewards! This is called the "Community Wellness Cooperative Program." Only businesses that support health and wellness are permitted to participate in the cooperative
Our school programs support and enhance our children's well being and so much more. Children do better in all areas when they feel good about themselves and experience success. These inspirational games give children the opportunity to define goals, and to take consistent steps toward reaching them. Their self-esteem soars because they have a visual "roadmap" which highlights their success every step of the way.
It is loads of fun and involves teachers, parents, peers and communities.
